FIELD: test equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to investigation of mechanical material properties, namely to determination of process parameters (forces, stresses, deformations, displacements). Device for determining material properties on thin-wall spherical covers in the form of hollow ball segments includes the base arranged in cylindrical housing and having the spherical support surface with a hole made in its centre, and mandrel with mating spherical support surface, which has similar hole in its centre; the hole is closed with the cover arranged between spherical support surface of the base and mandrel and tightly closing the inner cavity of the device in which there provided is the possibility of creating increasing hydraulic pressure on the cover from the base side. Base is made in the form of annular movable piston having the possibility of axial movement relative to the housing and equipped with flange tightly sealed along external perimeter arranged opposite to spherical support surface and protruding into inner cavity of the device.
EFFECT: providing the possibility of determining mechanical properties of material of thin-wall covers during direct hydrostatic test of covers themselves or fragment cut from them, improving the reliability of attachment of covers during tests owing to eliminating the stretching of cover from under the hold-down clamp of covers during the test of high-strength materials and transverse plastic clamping with securing elements of the device in cases of low material strength.
