FIELD: physics; geophysics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to acoustic survey of a body and can be used to identify sections which are suitable for construction of buildings and other structures. Acoustic survey of a steep slope is carried out in infrared frequency range from 1 Hz to 500 Hz on a uniform network of points with recording frequency of 1000 Hz for 1 minute. In each point, up to 5 spectra of acoustic emission are constructed on different recording time intervals. The average and/or predominant spectrum is calculated, from which natural frequencies of the top layer at each point of the steep slope and its dispersion are calculated. Characteristic oscillations of the top layer are compared with characteristic oscillations of buildings and structures estimated using theoretical formulae and/or experimentally. Construction is prohibited if natural frequencies of the designed objects equal natural frequencies of the top layer, otherwise construction is allowed. Also, permitted points are delineated and boundaries of sections which are suitable for construction are obtained.
EFFECT: fast and cheap identification of sections.
