FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: acoustic emission in the 0.1-1000 Hz frequency band is continuously recorded with two acoustic sensors. One acoustic sensor is fitted on the base of the landslide and other on the body of the landslide. Natural frequencies of the body of the landslide or separate blocks of the landslide on which there are resonant oscillations are studied. Mechanical oscillations of the base of the landslide are recorded. If the frequencies of the mechanical oscillations of the base of the landslide coincide with natural frequencies of the body of the landslide, the time for beginning recording anomalous resonance waves is determined. The activation period of the landslide is determined from the moment anomalous resonance waves appear with duration of one day.
EFFECT: high efficiency of determining onset of activation.
