FIELD: mining.
SUBSTANCE: there is performed formation radiation treatment by radioactive source, measurement of radiation that appears at interaction of radiation and cores by, at least, two detectors, according to measurement results definition of gas-bearing zone (GZ) parametre value that reflects the saturation of fluid (Sg) at, at least, one depth of the well using the relation of measurement results made by the first detector of the said two detectors to measurement results made by the second detector of the said two detectors, setting the values for GZ for, at least, two different Sg values with the use of modelling by Monte-Carlo method and Sg value estimation on the basis of specified GZ value and at least two set GZ values and without the use of high-speed neutron measurement results.
EFFECT: more precise definition of gas saturation in geological formation.
