FIELD: mining.
SUBSTANCE: thickness of rock is radiated with neutrons source. The neutrons source is arranged in a borehole drilled in rock thickness. Gamma-emission caused with radiation is recorded in at least three locations in the borehole. There is generated a response signal corresponding to the said recorded gamma-emission for each out of at least three locations. A corresponding value of density on base of comparison of number of readings of recorded gamma-quanta is determined for each out of at least two pairs of signals of response. Thus, there is obtained a corrected value of rock density on base of at least two density values.
EFFECT: upgraded accuracy of rock density determination.
