SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing an elastic fluorocopolymer. The method involves emulsion polymerisation of at least one fluoromonomer (a) selected from a group comprising tetrafluoroethylene, hexafluoropropylene, vinylidene fluoride and perfluorovinyl ether of formula CF₂=CF-O-R^f (where R^f denotes a C_1-8 perfluoroalkyl group or a perfluoro(alkoxyalkyl) group), monomer (b) which is a vinyl ester of formula CR¹R²=CR³COOCH=CH₂ (where each of R¹ and R², which are independent of each other, denotes a hydrogen atom, a C₁-C₁₀ alkyl group or a C₁-C₁₀ alkoxyalkyl group containing an oxygen atom in an ether group, and R³ denotes a hydrogen atom, a fluorine atom or a methyl group) and possibly at least one hydrocarbon monomer (c) selected from a group comprising ethylene, propylene and vinyl ether of formula CH₂=CH-O-R⁴ (where R⁴ denotes a C₁-₈ alkyl group or an alkoxyalkyl group). Polymerisation is carried out in an aqueous medium to obtain latex of an elastic fluorocopolymer; pH of the latex of the elastic fluorocopolymer is controlled to a value ranging from 1 to 9; the latex of the elastic fluorocopolymer then undergoes coagulation followed by extraction of the elastic fluorocopolymer. The invention also discloses an elastic fluorocopolymer and cross linked fluoro-rubber.

EFFECT: elastic fluorocopolymer has excellent cross linking capacity.
