FIELD: machine building.

SUBSTANCE: procedure for facilitation of bearing capacity of friction connection of metal structures with bolts of high strength consists in preparing reference sample containing element of metal structure and test patch piece. Contact surfaces of both are preliminary treated according to specified process and are connected with a bolt of high strength and a nut with a specified value of bolt tightening. To evaluate shearing force a device is mounted on the element of metal structure. Load on the patch piece is gradually increased till the moment of shear. Shearing force is recorded and compared with a standard value of comparing index. Further, assembly process is corrected depending on the value of deviation. As comparing index there is used the specified value of tightening force of the high strength bolt. To determine shearing force on the reference sample there is used the device consisting of a fixed and shifted parts, of a compression unit and of a unit of shear made as a lever mounted on a shaft and connected to a fixed part of the device. The device has an orifice for a loaded bolt. Between the lug of the lever and the test piece of strap there is positioned a self-aligning block made out of hardened material.
