FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: children's nasal fork adapter to be used with a continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) system. The adapter comprises first and second nasal projections and a base. Each projection accommodates a corrugated sector, a tip and a gap. The tip extends from the corrugated sector to the tip point and is designed to be inserted into a child's nostril. The gap passes through the projection and corrugated sector. In an undeflected position, a central axis of the gap along the corrugated sector is displaced transversely from the gap axis at the tip point. The base is coupled with each of nasal projections and designed to be attached to a CPAP generator. The corrugated sector makes the matched projection very flexible relatively to the base. The displaced position of the tip point makes required base/CPAP generator positioning relatively to a patient easier.
EFFECT: provided more exact adequacy to the expected anatomy of nose.
