FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: slabs are heated and roughed into breakdown bar of intermediate thickness. Further, they are finish rolled with summary reduction not less, than 30 % and regulated temperature of rolling finish. Successively, sheets are cooled. Also, slabs are heated to temperature not more, than 1200°C. Temperature of rolling finish is maintained within the range 620-820°C. Upon completion of finish passes sheets are cooled with water at rate 5-30°C/sec to temperature 300-600°C. According to this version of the procedure slabs are heated to temperature 1000-1160°C, rolling in rough and finish passes is carried out at summary reduction 60-97% and cooling with water is commenced after an interval of 5-80 sec.
EFFECT: raised efficiency due to elimination of breakdown sub-cooling between rough and finish passes at maintaining complex of mechanical properties of plate steel.
