FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: brush-collector unit of electric machine consists of collector, of brush box, of brush installed in brush box, of system of pressure for creating sliding contact of brush with collector and hold-down device for pressing brush to brush box wherein walls perpendicular to axis of collector rotation are made in form of magnet poles, while walls parallel to collector rotation axis are made out of non-magnetic material. Magnet poles are arranged according to direction of Lorentz force vector to a side of a leading edge of the brush during operation. The south pole of magnet is arranged at a lug part of the collector when current is directed from the brush to the collector, and at clockwise rotation of the collector, or at direction of current from the collector to the brush and counter clockwise rotation of the collector. The north pole of magnet is positioned at the lug part of the collector at direction of current from the brush to the collector and at counter clockwise rotation of the collector, or at direction of current from the collector to the brush and clockwise rotation of the collector.
EFFECT: increased service life of brushes and collector of electric machine due to elimination of low frequency constituent of sparking with commutation frequency due to avoiding current in trailing edge of brush by changing direction of offset in flow of charged particles in brush.
