SUBSTANCE: residual tangential stresses in article surface layer are determined relative to radial coordinate in article. Thereafter, using experimentally determined relations between tangential, radial and axial residual stresses, radial and axial residual stresses are determined, respectively.
EFFECT: possibility to determine tangential, radial and axial residual stresses of axially symmetric rod or wire.
