FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: detector is used to measure total intensity of ambient gamma-radiation and radiation from working source both after interaction of said radiation with controlled substance and after termination of working source radiation effects on said detector, and intensity of ambient background gamma-radiation. Background radiation intensity is determined separately in the range of source operating power and in power spectrum, above maximum power of the source. Then, with working source effects on detector resumed, background radiation intensity change above maximum power of the source is defined on increasing or decreasing background radiation intensity in said spectrum region and, correspondingly, measured intensity is increased by magnitude proportional to ore-measured background radiation intensity in operating power range.
EFFECT: simple, reliable and efficient control.
