FIELD: measurement equipment.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to non-contact inspection methods of process parametres of production processes, and namely to measurement of the substance level or density in various capacities, or on platforms, which is based on determination of change of ionisation radiation flow intensity when it passes through the inspected substance. In order to ensure the possibility of inspecting high level of substance in the capacity or its density, degree of absorption of radiation passing through the substance is determined by means of detector, and as per the degree of that absorption there estimated is the value of the determined parametre. At that, as informative detectable radiation, there used is cosmic radiation flow, mainly muons, and recording energy threshold of detector is set high than maximum energy of gamma quanta irradiated in decay chains of natural radionuclides.

EFFECT: inspection of high level (big thicknesses) of substance in capacity or its density.
