FIELD: information technology.
SUBSTANCE: radio resources for multiple cells are divided into two or more groups. A network infrastructure element detects a request for allocating radio resources to user equipment and determines effective interference which will be created by the requested radio resources for the given group of neighbouring cells. User equipment is allocated radio resources from the same group of radio resources based on said effective interference which will be created for the given group of neighbouring cells. Interference between cells is reduced and transmission capacity of the cellular communication system increases without increasing information exchange on the physical layer.
EFFECT: reduced interference between cells and increase in transmission capacity of a cellular system without increasing information exchange on the physical layer.
