FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: procedure for making protective coating on work pieces out of zirconium, titanium and their alloys subjected to high temperature heat during heat treatment and to hot deformation consists in application of protective layer containing alloy of nickel with phosphorus on surface of a work piece. Also, the layer containing alloy of nickel with phosphorus is applied by chemical sedimentation, whereupon on surface of a work piece there is applied a covering layer containing, wt %: CaO 1-10; Na2O 12-17; K2O 5-10; TiO2 1-45; the rest SiO2 or P2O5 28-32; Na2O 32-37; Al2O3 3-5; CaO 0.5-1.0; MgO 0.5-1.0; BaO 0.5-1.0; ZnO 0.5-1.0; TiO2 0.5-1.0; the rest SiO2.
EFFECT: simplified application of protective-lubricating coating on metals and alloys.
