FIELD: information technology.

SUBSTANCE: connection is established with reception of information on the address of the message recipient which is recorded into random access memory, the length of the message L is measured and compared with a threshold length Ln. If L>Ln, a physical connection is established and transmission is carried out in channel switching mode, and if L<Ln, the message is broken into packets which are recorded into buffer memory and transmitted in packet switching mode over channels with maximum carrying capacity in accordance with the routing table. During the connection establishment phase, the data transmission speed is analysed, as well as the number of communication channels used and the reliability of delivering messages in the existing physical connections by comparing them with other remote routers. Based on the comparison results, several parallel routes, which include indication of addresses of intermediate routers, are determined and the message is broken into packets, the volume of which is proportional to the transmission speed of the selected routers. Messages are transmitted simultaneously over several pre-defined parallel routes.

EFFECT: high-speed data transmission and high reliability of delivering messages.
