FIELD: process engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to butt welding and may be used in various industries. Proposed machine comprises foundation plate, stationary and movable columns coupled by guide rods and arranged in housings, centering and clamping mechanisms. Each of the latter comprises clamping ring, clamping blocks and centering and clamping hydraulic cylinders arranged in their housings, hydraulic cylinders of fusion and setting, sliders and axles fitted in rods of hydraulic cylinders of clamping and centering. Clamping rings and blocks of centering and clamping mechanisms are arranged in housings of stationary and movable columns. Each centering and clamping mechanism additionally comprises shackles and axles fitted into clamping ring and axles fitted in clamping blocks. Clamping ring has ledges on its outer surface, provided with annular groove. Column housing consists of two half- cases with ledges and clamping ring centered along half-case OD, and radial grooves accommodating clamping blocks arranged therein to radially move toward machine central axis. Clamping ring may turn about machine lengthwise axis, driven by sliders that may swing about axles pressed into clamping and centering hydraulic cylinder rods. Housings of said hydraulic cylinders are rigidly secured on column cylindrical outer surface. Clamping ring is coupled with one end of shackles fitted in ring annular groove. Shackle other end is jointed with clamping blocks by axles fitted therein to turn thereabout.

EFFECT: higher quality of welded joints, efficiency and reliability.
