FIELD: welding.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to equipment for flash butt welding of circular butts of pipes, mainly, of small and medium diameter (57-325 mm) with factory insulation, in conditions of construction of field and main pipelines of oil and gas industry. Inside pipes there are devices for removal of internal flash with possibility of their centring. Clamps with power and current-carrying shoes are arranged in machine housing with possibility of their installation on end sections of pipes, which are exposed from insulation. Clamps for support and alignment of pipes contain steel shoes with possibility of their installation on insulated part of pipes at distance of not less than 250 mm relative to current-conducting and power shoes. Current-conducting shoes are made of bronze and have grooves with spring-loaded steel inserts with corrugations installed in them to exclude slippage during melting and upsetting. Steel shoes of clamps for support and centring of pipes have inserts from elastic material to exclude damages of pipe insulation and are equipped with spring-loaded sensor of slippage relative to surface of pipes being welded.

EFFECT: higher quality of welded connection of pipes with factory insulation.
