METHOD FOR PROTECTION FROM INTRASYSTEM ECHO SIGNALS AND RADAR TRANSPONDER FOR REALISING SAID METHOD Russian patent published in 2011 - IPC G01S13/76

Abstract RU 2416808 C1

FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: emission and reception of request signals using a transponder and an interrogator placed next to each other, where the said request signals are in form of pulses separated by fixed time intervals, the transponder measures and stores in each request period the time delay of the pulse of the decoded request signal form the moment it was emitted by the interrogator before the transponder decodes the request signal, from which the delay time of pulses of the decoded current request signals are compared. If the delay time of the pulses coincides, the current request signals are perceived as echo signals obtained through reflection of request signals from the interrogator of the detection radar system from the surrounding relief of the area, which are attenuated in the transponder similar to intrasystem noise. The radar transponder has a device for protection from intrasystem pulse noise and a transponder encoder, which are connected in series to the reception device of the transponder. The device for protection from intrasystem pulse noise comprises the following, connected in series with the reception device of the transponder: analogue to digital converter, pulse detection unit, pulse distribution unit, decoder, a unit for allowing/prohibiting start up, the output of which is connected to the encoder of the transponder, a request signal former, the input of which is connected by a wire link to the output of the system transponder, and a device for measuring delay with a comparator circuit, the second input of which is connected to the second output of the decoder, and the output to the second input of the unit for allowing/prohibiting start up of the encoder.

EFFECT: low level of intrasystem noise in conditions with complex terrain features.
