SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a switching unit (1), in particular, a linear protection circuit breaker and/or a leakage current protection circuit breaker with a body (2) and with switching contacts to close and/or open at least one current circuit. Besides, an opening device is provided for automatic opening of switching contacts, and the body (2) has at least frontal side (3), where a cap (4) is fixed, which has a fixing ledge (11), which engages with the fixing slot (10) arranged on the body. The body (2) has a body ledge (32), which in at least one area (33) of the base changes into the body (2). In the zone of base area (33), in particular, in the direct transition of the body ledge (32) into the body (2), in the body (2) there is at least one safety slot (35), besides the cap (4) engages with the safety slot (35) to form a safety joint (34).

EFFECT: invention provides the possibility of simple and efficient manufacturing, fast, flexible and cost-efficient compliance of the device with changing requirements of the market or consumers with the help of configuration of only the appropriate cap, using one and the same body then.
