FIELD: information technology.
SUBSTANCE: disclosed is a method of providing multicast services, involving: reception of a multicast request service sent by user equipment (UE) over an IP multimedia subsystem (IMS) network; receiving media transmission parametres of multicast media streams; sending a reply to the UE over the IMS network using media transmission parametres contained in the reply; and sending multicast media streams corresponding to media transmission parametres in the UE. The invention also discloses a system which provides multicast services, and a system for supporting the multicast service.
EFFECT: increase in scalability and providing extended multimedia services in multicast.
