FIELD: transport.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrified railway transport and may be used in municipal electric transport facilities, e.g. in power supply of traction motors and etc. Proposed invention consists in that current carrying wire temperature is measured, as well as ambient temperature and wind speed to determine wire cross section and calculate heat transfer factor by protected formula. Invention protects expressions for determining perimetre of twisted and shaped wires.
EFFECT: higher accuracy of wire heat transfer factor determination, expanded applications.
