FIELD: mining.

SUBSTANCE: in method for determining the condition preceding the destruction of rocks and building structures, in investigated rock or building material the measuring volume made in the form of bore pit or through hole is pre-developed. Inner volume of bore pit or hole is sealed by having connected it to atmosphere through high-efficiency filter. From time to time, air samples are taken from inner volume of bore pit or through hole. The number of particles formed in measuring volume is fixed. Countable concentration and distribution function as per particle sizes is used as the parametres characterising the condition of the investigated rock or material. Whether the condition preceding the destruction has occurred is judged by increase of countable concentration of produced particles and as per the shift in the direction of high values of median of distribution function of particles as per sizes. Device for implementing the method of determining the condition preceding the destruction of rocks and building materials includes metre of aerosol particles and a probe. Probe arranged inside measuring volume is made in the form of two sampling tubes equipped with one or more tight plugs. On inlet end of the first sampling tube the high-efficiency filter is installed, and outlet end of the second tube is connected to aerosol particle metre.

EFFECT: improving accuracy and reliability of determination of condition preceding the destruction of samples of rocks, rock mass and building structures.
