SUBSTANCE: in accordance with the invention, clocks of sources and the recording device are synchronised. Each source is allowed to generate excitations at excitation time instants tk,n, which form a predetermined sequence, where k is the excitation index number for the given source and n is the index number of the given source, lying in the interval from 1 to the number Ns of sources, provided that at time instant tk,n the source is in a ready state to generate vibrations, and signals output by receivers are continuously recorded. The invention also relates to a system for gathering seismic data used to implement the given method.
EFFECT: avoiding loss in time at the end of each series of generations, using a separate frequency band to transmit information from each vibration source, which cuts the number of sources which can be used simultaneously in stopping recording if problems arise when transmitting information between vibration sources and recording apparatus.
