FIELD: power industry.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to devices for safety ensuring devices when transferring spent fuel assemblies (SFA) of VVER 1000 reactor from transport covers to storage covers and is intended to be used in water-filled storages of spent nuclear fuel at factories on regeneration of such fuel or at NPS. Device for lifting and moving spent fuel assemblies includes receiving basin, movable platform with undercarriage, which is installed above receiving basin, lifting device, protective shell having the cavity opened on the side of basin, and the grip installed in the cavity of protective shell. Protective shell is attached to lower part of the rod installed on lifting device. Grip is provided with drive with back-and-forth movement of stock, which is arranged in cavity of protective shell. Lugs of grip are installed on spring-loaded rotary axes and when stock of drive is in retracted position, they form the section along inner diametre, which is equal to section of head of spent fuel assembly.

EFFECT: invention allows extracting spent fuel assemblies with curved heads and fallen spent fuel assemblies from the basin bottom and installing them into storage cover.
