JACKET TO INSTALL AND STORE SPENT FUEL ASSEMBLIES OF REACTOR VVER-1000 Russian patent published in 2013 - IPC G21C19/06 

FIELD: power engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to facilities for storage of spent fuel assemblies (SFA), and more specifically - to facilities for storage of defect SFAs of a VVER-1000 reactor and is designed for use in storages of spent nuclear fuel at factories for regeneration of such fuel or at an NPP. The purpose of the invention is safe storage of defect SFAs in a storage pool. The jacket for placement and storage of spent fuel assemblies is made of stainless steel and comprises a central pipe, square spacer grids with holes for installation of pipes, where spent fuel assemblies are located, and axes of which are arranged symmetrically relative to the central axis of the jacket. Pipes are equipped with the lower part with bottoms, and in the upper part - with flanges. Onto pipes by means of a bayonet joint there are covers installed with inner rings, sealing surfaces of which are pressed by a bayonet joint to pipe flanges. Covers are equipped with heads, in the upper part of which there are metal-ceramic filters installed. For convenience of service the outer contour of cover heads corresponds to the outer contour of SFA heads.

EFFECT: elimination of water circulation in jacket pipes when storing defect SFAs in them due to pipes sealing.
