HIGH-SPEED SHIP TO OPERATE IN TURBULENT WATERS Russian patent published in 2011 - IPC B63B1/22

Abstract RU 2418709 C2

FIELD: transport.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to ship building, namely, to high-speed ships to be operated in turbulent waters. Proposed ship comprises central deck and, at least, three pairs of hull sections, front and rear. Sections of each said pair are arranged on opposite sides of the deck and under it. Each said section comprises holder secured to the deck and rear housing secured to its front edge by, at least, one joint arranged to limit lateral and axial shift relative to the deck but to allow its turn about said holder. Hulls feature buoyancy sufficient to keep ship afloat so that the deck stays above the water. Said hulls comprise, at least, one pair of suspensions to support hull sections. Element of each suspension runs from the deck to mounting point of appropriate holder at ship stern to allow hull displacement relative to ship deck and to damp hull motion. Rear ends of front hull section sections may be located below front ends of rear hull sections. Each hull section may have, in fact, S-shape profile in direction perpendicular to section lengthwise axis. Note here that section front end is defined by holder secured to the deck while rear end is defined by rear end of appropriate rear hull. Note also that rear end of hull section is located under its front end. Each hull section comprises hull movable support arranged between holder secured to the deck and hull. Note here that said movable support and hull form appropriate rear hull. Note also that hull movable support front end is jointed with rear end by hinge while its rear end is jointed to hull front end by second hinge.

EFFECT: navigation in turbulent waters.
