FIELD: engines and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: three-zone jet engine includes combustion chamber and jet nozzle. There are three in-series located zones in combustion chamber: zone of complete fuel combustion, into which fuel and oxidiser, or air is supplied; zone of thermal decomposition of hydrogen-containing fuel, into which such fuel is supplied; and secondary combustion zone into which oxidiser or air is supplied. Three-zone jet engine can be air-jet and once-through, jet turbine or liquid-fuel type. Once-through or jet turbine engine also has recirculation device in the form of connection pipes located behind decomposition zone, through which some portion of hydrogen-gas mixture is supplied to ejectors or deflectors, which are located at the beginning of complete fuel combustion zone.
EFFECT: augmentation of engine thrust owing to using oxidiser only for combustion of hydrogen contained in fuel; unburnt portion of fuel is discharged through nozzle in the form of soot in case hydrocarbon fuel is used.
