FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: method enables testing of continuous crane beams which form top and bottom beam pairs. Each beam pair is joined to the other. Walls of each beam pair are inclined at an angle to the vertical and are fixed in that position. The beams are fitted with guide rails. The bottom and top beams pairs are joined by cylindrical hinges and form a single unit of four beams. The single unit of beams is mounted in the stand, with rails of the bottom beam pair resting on upward directed eight wheels which form balance trucks of the bottom overhead crane, which is movably held to the foundation of the stand by anchor bolts. The top overhead crane is mounted with its eight wheels resting on the guide rails of the single unit of beams. The top overhead crane is immovably fixed in the longitudinal direction relative the bottom crane, with its eight wheels resting on the guide rails of the single unit of four continuous beams. The top overhead crane is joined by a lateral strut to the frame of the mechanism for longitudinal back-and-forth oscillations. A piston-rod is hinged to the said unit of four beams. A double-cantilever beam is mounted at the centre of the top overhead crane and traction dynamometres and safety bolts are suspended at the cantilevers. Balance beams are suspended on the dynamometres and on ends of each balance beam there are two anchor bars for the loading device which are joined to the frame of the stand, where nuts of the anchor bars interact with washers through thrust bearings, and the washers interact with compression springs. The nuts are tightened by a torque wrench while using the dynamometres to control the value of force created in the elastic system of the stand. Four double-span beams are pressed between wheels of the top and bottom cranes. Back-and-fourth oscillations with given amplitude are imparted to the said beams, which are tested in automatic mode under emergency multichannel protection. Endurance of the unit of beams is tested while recording loading cycles with a counter operated from a hermetic contact and sending a signal for stopping tests in case of an emergency increase in the magnetic gap between the hermetic contact and magnets.
EFFECT: broader functionalities of the stand, high stability of its operation and simple design of the stand.
