SUBSTANCE: invention refers to an absorbent product such as a diaper, a pull-up diaper, a hygienic lining or protective means used in incontinence, containing a liquid-permeable coating layer facing the user when in use, a liquid-impermeable back layer facing an opposite side from the user when in use, and an absorbent core between the coating layer and the back layer; said product has a longitudinal direction 2, a transverse direction 3, two substantially longitudinal side edges 4, 5, a substantially transverse first edge 7, a substantially transverse back edge 8, a substantially longitudinal middle line 6, a front portion 9 and a back portion 10 from each side of the middle line 11; said middle line 6 and a central line 11 are crossed in a cross point 12; the absorbent product contains at least one salt produced by monovalent (singly charged) ions, type X+Y- in the amount 1-75 wt %, calculated by the core weight.
EFFECT: absorbent product reduces the risk of infections and unpleasant odours by limiting the growth and activity of undesired microorganisms.
