SUBSTANCE: programmable keyboard has one or more programmable keys with a character displayed on one or more programmable keys. One of the characters displayed on one of the programmable keys can be modified by selecting the programmable key and then performing directed input. The user can confirm directed input by touching and directed dragging of the selector on the touch screen. Several characters associated with the plurality of modification keys become visible after the programmable key is selected so that the user can visually determine which directed input will provide the required character.
EFFECT: possibility of using the keyboard for various applications and devices using simple modifications to the screen size of the programmable keys and font size used for the characters.
