FIELD: information technology.
SUBSTANCE: one version discloses improved examination of oblong three-dimensional (3D) arched structures, such as blood vessels, in medical 3D imaging. Reproduction is performed so that the result is visualisation of an arched sectional plane (3D) of said arched oblong structure. The advantage of this method lies, for example, in that information of the sectional plane is easily interpreted with respect to the 3D form and the surrounding of the oblong object without distortions, and that sectional planes along more than one structure can be visualised and examined together at the same time without problems with interpretation for diagnosing and treating anomalies in, for example, blood vessels.
EFFECT: reduced geometric distortion of presented information.
