SUBSTANCE: invention is related to a method for visualizing a dynamic anatomical structure. A method for visualizing a dynamic anatomical structure, comprising the steps of: a) providing a series of sequential three-dimensional medical images (M1, M2, M3 … MZ), covering a period (T) of time, b) creating a dynamic model (14) of at least part of the anatomical structure, c) defining a volumetric region of interest (40) containing the anatomical object of interest (3) within each of the three-dimensional images, and d) providing a three-dimensional visualization environment (50, 70) for displaying dynamic anatomical structure over a specified period of time, wherein the visualization (45) corresponding to a specific point in time within the specified time period comprises: i) a volumetric rendering of only the region of interest (40) of a three-dimensional image according to a specified specific point in time; and ii) visualization of a dynamic model (14) at a specified specific point in time and in the same coordinate system as the volumetric rendering of the region of interest.

EFFECT: increase of accuracy of display of the anatomical structure and reduction of risks during dynamic display.
