SUBSTANCE: invention relates to agricultural machine building, in particular, to machines designed to harvest melons and gourds. A picker-loader comprises a frame, a gripping-transporting device in the form of an inclined endless conveyor contour with flexible fruit-picking blades and a roller. Fruit-gripping blades are fixed on a belt of the conveyor contour of the gripping-transporting device. The blades are arranged as curvilinear, with a radius equal to the maximum diametre of the picked fruit, and have an I-shaped frame, which separates the conveyor contour into two streams. A roller is coupled with the gripping-transporting device, being arranged in the form of two oppositely mounted augers with the left-sided and right-sided winding and having direction of rotation that matches the direction of the picker movement. The gripping-transporting device is installed at the right side of a tractor with the help of brackets fixed to the tractor half-frame and to the suspension device. The body comprises a bottom and a back wall, which are coupled along the radius equal to the auger radius. The front part of the bottom has a bulge. The roller body is hingedly fixed to the front suspension of the tractor and rests onto gauge wheels. The roller auger diametre is accepted to hold the largest picked fruit.
