FIELD: weapons and ammunition.
SUBSTANCE: method involves formation on surface of case of ground zinc phosphate layer and application of polymer layer with further heat treatment. Polymer layer is applied to surface of zinc phosphate layer of cartridge case by means of treatment of case in water diluted mixture of polyurethane or phenyl-siloxane varnishes and polymethylsiloxane and copolymer of butadiene with styrene in the following percentage ratio: polyurethane or phenyl-siloxane varnish 3.0-10.0%, polymethylsiloxane and copolymer of butadiene with styrene 1.5-10.0%, and water is up to 100%. Surface tension of mixture is equal to (40÷55)·10-3 N/m. Case is separated, layer of mixture is levelled and excess mixture is removed from surface of cases by being turned in air; after that, separated case is subject to heat treatment.
EFFECT: obtaining protective polymer coating on surface of cartridge cases, which is tight, smooth, non-sticky, strong, and wear and corrosion resistant.
