FIELD: weapons and ammunition.
SUBSTANCE: metal cartridge case has a coating in the form of serially applied inner, intermediate and external layers. The inner layer is arranged as iron-phosphate with thickness of 5-8 mcm, and the intermediate and the external one from a water soluble varnish, with total thickness of 10-25 mcm.
EFFECT: higher corrosion and mechanical strength of cartridge case coating.
