FIELD: information technology.
SUBSTANCE: signal of interest may be, for example, a television signal or a wireless microphone signal which uses a licensed television spectrum. Predetermined field intensity may be specified either by a rule or government order. For this purpose, the signal of interest undergoes preliminary local detection in the radio-frequency spectrum of a wireless channel; the confidence measure which corresponds to whether the signal has been detected or not is determined; and the local detection result and the confidence measure are sent for combination with preliminary local detection from a remote sensor in the device of a centralised destination point, which performs global determination of whether the signal of interest is present.
EFFECT: possibility of determining whether a signal of interest is present, for example, a licensed signal having or exceeding predetermined field intensity in a wireless spectrum, or those which facilitate such determination.
