SUBSTANCE: invention relates to telecommunications, and specifically to methods of configuring synchronization of detection signal (DMTC). Method of operating a radio access node in a cellular communication network comprises steps of: sending to a wireless communication device one or more synchronization configuration measurements of a detection signal (DMTC) for a frequency on which one or more asynchronous cells can operate; wherein transmitting system information or a measurement object, comprising: indicating whether one or more asynchronous cells are operating at said frequency; if the indication is set to a value that one or more asynchronous cells operate at said frequency, a first DMTC for said frequency to be used by the wireless communication device for one or more asynchronous cells operating at said frequency; if indication is set to value, which indicates that asynchronous cells do not work at specified frequency, second DMTC for specified frequency.

EFFECT: technical result of the invention is to provide high efficiency of measurements on the carrier, on which one or more asynchronous cells operate.
