SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, rheumatology and physiotherapy and can be applied in therapeutic-preventive, sanatorium and spa, rheumatologic, physiotherapeutic institutions and home conditions. Exposure to cold is performed until skin temperature in range +25+12°C is reached with course of 10-12 procedures on area of joint surface, equal 10 cm² of skin: with ice T=0+4°C or by blowing with cold air with air flow rate 800-900 l/min at T=-30°C or at T=-60°C, or with carbon dioxide T=-78°C. After 35-40 minutes after skin temperature recovery and appearance of active hyperemia fore 100-120 minutes application with 2% solution of xidophon in combination with 5% solution of essential oils of anise, clove, lavender, nutmeg, peppermint, salvia sclarea, thyme, eucalyptus, ginger, pine, and rosemary is applied.

EFFECT: method prevents further development of disease, disability of patients at initial stages of osteoarthritis 1-11, delays terms of endoprosthetics of patients at III-IV stages of disease, increases patients' life quality.
