FIELD: transport.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to river transport, namely, to ferries and allows their year-round operation between river banks. Ferry ice-breaking device comprises brackets attached to ferry bow and provided with bearings on both sides, cylindrical drum arranged across ferry hull midplane, screw blades and cutting disks. Said drum incorporates lateral flanged shafts running in bracket lower bearings and secured by straps from above. Studs are secured on hull sides, above water-line, with brackets fitted thereon by their top ends to move thereabout. Taper disk blade with bolts secured thereto along generating line and with heads up is rigidly secured atop said drum, at its central part. Hard-alloy annular inserts with their outer diameter some (0.2-0.3) m smaller than that of aforesaid blade are arranged in symmetry on both sides of said blade on aforesaid drum. Screw blades with cutting disks secured to their faces are attached horizontally via flanges to those of drum shafts on both sides.
EFFECT: simplified design, higher structural strength and higher reliability at whatever draft.
