FIELD: oil and gas production.
SUBSTANCE: device for opening metal portions of casing consists of electric discharge generator connected to working tool via cable. The working tool is made in form of an electrode in volume of which totality of particles out of refractory and electro-insulating material or material with low electro-conductivity is uniformly distributed at fabrication of the electrode. Effective diameter of particles corresponds to a doubled value of a gap required for electric discharge between the electrode and treated surface. The device is equipped with means of electrode pressing to treated surface.
EFFECT: simplified design, automatically set gap between working tool of electric discharge unit and treated surface; increased efficiency.
