SUBSTANCE: method of determining the position of a control point in a command region comprises steps on which a pointing device (1), having a camera (2), is aimed onto the command region (Asm); an image (I) of the target region (Al) on which the pointing device is aimed is generated; the image (I) of the target region is processed in order to determine the target point (T) on which the pointing device (1) is aimed; the position (x',y') of the control point (C) is determined depending on the position (x,y) of the target point (T) in the current control region (Ast), wherein the control region (Ast) at least partly includes the command region (Asm). The size and/or position of the control region (Ast) is given in accordance with instantaneous indication conditions and/or control situations. The system implements this method.
EFFECT: high accuracy and easy use of the pointing device for controlling the control point.
