SUBSTANCE: device to generate images, which makes each of multiple light beams scan in direction of the main scanning and direction of sub-scanning, which is vertical in direction of the main scanning, in order to generate an image, containing multiple colours, besides, the device comprises the following: the first correction component, configured to correct bends and inclines in direction of sub-scanning by means of image data conversion in order to eliminate bends and inclines in forms of scanning lines, when the light beams are made to scan in direction of the main scanning; the second component of correction configured to correct distortions in direction of the main scanning in scanning lines; and a control component configured to do both correction with the help of the first correction component and correction with the help of the second correction component, when the input image has two or more colours, and to do just correction with the help of the second correction component, when the input image has only one colour.

EFFECT: reduced frequency of image defect occurrence.
