FIELD: physics, optics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to optical scanning and image formation devices used in laser printing devices, copying machines etc. The device has an optical deflector and an optical image formation system. A light beam falls on the surface of the optical deflector at an angle to the optical axis of the image formation system in the main scanning plane. Between the deflector and the scanning surface there is a transmission-type image forming optical element and a reflection-type optical element which make up the optical image formation system. In the sub-scanning plane, the angle θ between the principal ray of the light beam reflected by the reflection-type optical element and the normal to the reflection-type optical element satisfies the condition θ≤45°. In the sub-scanning plane, the transmission-type optical element is placed such that interference with the transmission path of light reflected by the reflection-type optical element is avoided.
EFFECT: smaller size of the device.
