FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to gravity concentration of mineral resources, namely, to specific gravity separation in suspensions at dense-media separators used for dressing fine and medium coal grains. Proposed separator comprises bath with adjustable baffle arranged over bath loading part width, its lower end being submerged below suspension level, and appliances discharge float and sunken products. To intensify material density separation, separator bath incorporates additionally a line of baffles arranged at different depth. Note here that, to improve ascending and descending flows, proposed separator may additionally feed mineral suspension between first and last baffles located above constant level of suspension. Note also that last baffle is arranged to be adjusted in depth and inclination depending upon load.
EFFECT: higher separator and dressing efficiency.
