FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: method to determine magnetic permeability of cylindrical ferromagnetic conductors in pulse mode consists in connection of a pulse current generator to an investigated cylindrical conductor of radius r with specific conductivity σ via a shunt, besides, the conductor is coaxially placed into a metal pipe, which serves as a reverse conductor, measurement of voltage drop with the help of a memorising oscillograph at the shunt u1(t) and voltage drop u(t) measurement at the conductor section with length 1 m, located in the middle of the conductor, the data of produced oscillogram is used to define functions of magnetising current l(f) and voltage U(f) with the help of Fourier transform. A module Z(f) and a phase φ(f) of complex resistance of the conductor are calculated from each frequency component of a measured signal, the complex magnetic permeability is defined using the ratio .
EFFECT: reduction of time to determine magnetic permeability of cylindrical ferromagnetic conductors.
