FIELD: computer engineering.

SUBSTANCE: device comprises microcontroller, radio modem, feeding the current transformer, primary winding of which is straight phase wire of high-voltage power transmission line, which secondary winding is connected to a diode rectifier bridge, by a stabiliser, diode and supercapacitor. For determination of desired parameters, method uses two high-voltage dividers made up of common high-voltage arm, which protrudes linear suspended insulator of overhead transmission line, and two low-voltage arms, which can be a resistor, capacitor or an inductance coil. One end of low-voltage arm is connected in series with a high-voltage arm, and other end is connected to phase wire through a quick-acting key, which when control signal of each period of switches voltage divider with one low-voltage arm on other. Linear suspended insulator is connected to grounded valves of high-voltage power transmission towers. Waveform of output voltages of high-voltage divider are recorded measurement unit of device.

EFFECT: technical result consists in possibility of measuring surface resistance and leak current linear suspended insulator in real time and in any place of overhead transmission line.
