FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: set of invention relates to cleaning ICE off-gases of nitrogen oxide. Device 5 to feed one of the following reagents is mounted along off-gas flow generated in ICE 2 operation and in exhaust system 1 ahead of catalyst 3: reducing agent and its precursor. Cellular element, flown over by off-gas, is arranged behind device 5 along off-gas flow. Determined are nitrogen oxide content in off-gas, cellular element temperature, amount of reagent for recovery of preset amount nitrogen oxide in off-gas. Said amount of reagent added, cellular element temperature is define and compared to preset target temperature. If measured temperature is lower than target one, cellular element temperature is calculated after one of below measures is taken: adding reduced amount of reagent, increasing cellular element and off-gas temperature unless cellular element temperature equals or exceeds target temperature. To complete, reagent if fed via device 5 or, if required, temperature is increased.
EFFECT: ruling out byproducts in producing reducing agent.
