FIELD: process engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to contact welding current stabilisation and may be used in contact point welding machines. Prior to welding, power supply voltage Ups, transformation factor at given stage Km and inductive resistance X2k in short-circuit conditions are defined. In welding, cosφ is measured in every period and decide on correction of thyristor opening angle αj+1 in next period in interval Uv±ΔU, where Uv and ΔU are rated circuit voltage and its tolerable deviation by formula αj+1=A1·(Uc-UH)+A0, where A0 and A1 are factors depending upon cosφ defined as coefficient of linear binomial of the best uniform approximation in compliance with formulas and A0' where α' and α" are set for and as result of solution relative to α of equation where I2 is preset welding current; ki is welding current adjustment factor depending upon α and cosφ.

EFFECT: simplified ACS and higher accuracy of contact point welding current adjustment.
