FIELD: transport.
SUBSTANCE: proposed invention may be used for keeping and rewinding long flexible articles. Elastic reel with automatic brake comprises casing, drum, flange, locking disk, elastic separator, teethe and counter teeth, retaining cams and counter retaining cams. Drum is arranged inside said casing to rotate therein and is coupled therewith by elastic rewinding appliances. Drum and flange are made integral. In rotation, drum and flange are coupled with locking disk. Said disk is provided with teeth to displace between first and second positions. In second position, locking disk teeth are engaged with opposite teeth. If flange exceeds preset threshold rotational speed locking disk displaces into second position. Drum may be braked.
EFFECT: preventing damages by high-force impacts.
